The Killer Spotlight originally launched in 2017 on its own domain. Although it closed a few years later, we always felt there was something there worth returning to.
Following conversations between The Fan Carpet’s Marc Jason Ali and The Killer Spotlight’s Jonathan Hughes, we decided that, like many characters in pop culture, nothing ever really dies — so we resurrected it.
Relaunched in 2026 as part of The Fan Carpet network, The Killer Spotlight returns with a sharper focus: reviews, features, interviews, fan-event coverage and long-form appreciation pieces celebrating the films and filmmakers that thrive outside the usual mainstream cycle.
